Article Marketing – Create an Outline For Your Article

Article writing is something you have probably done since you were in school. It was called “essay writing” then. It actually started out as paragraph writing. You would form a topic sentence, then you would write a few sentences to support that topic sentence.
Well, it is a very important skill, especially now that you are venturing into the Internet marketing world. One of the best ways to get traffic to your website, and get people to trust that you know what you are “talking” about is to become an excellent article writer. Folks are looking for information they can use. They are not looking for a sales pitch.
Yes, you do want to sell them your fantastic product, but you have to be able to convince them, first of all that they can trust you, and secondly that your product is exactly what they want. Both of these tasks can be accomplished by writing great articles.
If you are anything like yours truly, you would want to cast your body off the nearest cliff rather than begin an article writing career. However, the truth is, you have a wealth of knowledge stored up in your head, and you just need some help to get it out and onto the document screen. Once you have done it with some success and regularity it becomes so much easier.
One excellent method you can use to prepare yourself for writing a good article, filled with well presented content, is to prepare an outline first. Creating an outline for your articles gives you a well prepared template. Then all you have to do is fill in the blanks. Preparing the template makes the job easier and faster. It will also dispell your conserns about being organized and not knowing what to write about. An outline will act as the design or blueprint for your article.
A carefully planned outline will practically guarantee a smooth, worry free writing process. Creating an outline for all your articles will get you ready and breeze through writing an article in no time at all.
Start by doing some brainstorming, and jot down your brilliant ideas first. Don’t worry about the order, just get them down. These will eventually form the topics and subtopics of your article. If you are not familiar with your subject, you will want to gather some interesting content from the Internet or subject specific magazines that you can transform into your article.
Next, come up with an introductory sentence. This is simalar to high school essay writing in the sense that you want to tell your reading audience what it is that you will be telling them before you tell them. It is meant to catch their attention so they will stick around for the rest of your article. Make this sentence as interesting as possible. Use some emotion if possible. (Do an Internet search for words that arouse emotion).
The next step is to identify your sub topics and sub titles. You can arrange your brainstorming ideas into these sub topics. Each one becomes an idea that you can use to generate a paragraph or two. It may be helpful to list pros and cons, as well as general information.
Now that you have the framework of your article, all you need to do is add the “meat”. Let your ideas flow. Don’t worry about spelling or grammer until you are done. Stopping for spell checks and grammar correction will interupt you train of thought.
The final part of your article is the conclusion. In school, this was a summary. When writing for Internet marketing, you want to add more emotional words to get your reader to agree with your article and hopefully take the next step, which is probably following a link to build more trust or some type of sales page. The conclusion is just as important as the introduction. You will want to spend much more time on these two parts of your article. To reiterate a point, don’t be too sales oriented. Your goal is to get your readers to trust you. A major sales pitch will cause a click off your page very quickly.

Once you have completed the initial writing process, reread what you have written. Now, it is time for spell checking and grammar corrections. Also check back on your outline to make sure you included all your points and that you did not drift too far off subject. It’s not hard to be caught in the moment and get lost in your writing. Your outline will help you keep on track. The time spent in outlining your article will not go to waste. Trust and rely on your outline, especially when your first begin in Internet writing, because it will prove to be a very helpful article writing tool.

One of the most important things you will need to do during your article marketing is to actually “write” those articles. Now, you could hire someone to do it for you, but that wouldn’t be free, now would it. I came across this software tool that you can get for only $24 that will give you literally thousands of articles in hundreds of different subject areas.
